With an increased interest in using native plants in our gardens, coupled with my wonderfully shaded backyard, I have found a growing love for the Native Azalea. They give a splashing show of color, ranging from oranges and yellows to pinks, reds and whites through most of the spring and, depending on the varieties selected, well into the summer.
I have found them easy to grow and once established drought tolerant. They are also almost maintenance free and well suited to the heat of our Georgia climate.
