Bed preparation, raised beds, starting seeds, transplants and planting calendars will introduce the novice gardener to the joys of growing food for home. We plan to plant kale, collards, turnips, swiss chard and parsley as well as a few pollinator plants. Class will be at the Hafley Park Teaching Garden at the corner of Houston Lake Road and James Street, in front of the old Perry Primary. This class will be hands-on so please come dressed to get dirty and turn your brown thumb green! Please bring a lawn chair.
