Bethesda Senior Center, 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, GA. Brandon Merz, Forest Health Specialist, with the Georgia Forestry Commission as he explains how the Georgia Forestry Service is working to keep our forests healthy. Brandon is originally from North Carolina and went to school for forestry at Northern Arizona University. After graduating, he worked seasonal jobs with the US Forest Service, USDA, and Georgia DNR. He was hired on full time with the Georgia Forestry Commission as a Management Forester. After five years in that position, he was promoted to Forest Health Specialist for North Georgia where he has worked for three years. He and his wife live in Rabun County with their two boys.
