Lockerly Arboretum is partnering with Allied Arts for an all new Plein Air Art Event! Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. Visual artists are welcome to attend! Grab your art supplies and a folding chair and come on out to Lockerly for a day of open air art. Pick a spot and let the beauty of Lockerly inspire your creativity! Mediums (canvases, sketchpad pages, etc.) will be stamped upon entry and judged that afternoon. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place as well as a People's Choice Award. Completed works from the day will also be exhibited at The Marlor House following the event. The price to participate is $25, $15 for students. Students must present Student ID upon entry. We are limited to 35 spots, so be sure to sign up today! You must be at Lockerly and signed in by 10:30 am on the day of the event. You will need to provide your own art supplies - paint, canvases, pencils, etc., and your own easel to display your artwork. Snacks will be provided!
