Dr. Tim Smalley, Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus, University of Georgia, will discuss his project to document the Historically Significant Trees of Georgia. A historically significant tree is one associated with a historical site or one which has “witnessed” a historical event.  Included in his discussion are trees with historical and horticulturally significance on public and private land, and unique, outstanding, specimens for the locale.
