Bridge Community Center, 135 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, Our speaker, R.J. Gipaya, watershed specialist for the Flint Riverkeeper, grew up in Meriwether County, GA, and lives in Americus, GA. He formerly worked for the Alaskan Observers, Inc. in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He holds a degree in marine biology from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. The Flint River winds through Fayette and several other counties in Georgia and holds a prominent place in Southeastern US history. FMGA meets each third Tuesday of the months August through May. FMGA membership includes Fayette master gardeners and others interested in gardening. FMGA presentations are open to the public and are free. Social time for attendees is at 9:30 a.m., and a business meeting will begin at 11 am.
