FAYETTEVILLE: Radon Seminar

Radon is an invisible, odorless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer, after tobacco smoke.  In Fayette County about 26.9% of the homes tested had elevated levels of radon (over 4.0 pCi/L). Since January is National Radon Action Month, the Fayette County Extension Office is offering a free class on Radon.  Derek Cooper, Radon Educator for the University of Georgia, will explain Radon along with the associated health problems, testing, and solutions.  Don’t miss out on this important event where you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and the option to purchase a radon kit that will test your entire home for $10. 140 Stonewall Ave. W, Suite 209, Fayetteville, GA. RSVP by calling 770-305-5412 or by email at uge2113@uga.edu.
