In celebration of the City of Dawsonville becoming an official Bee City USA, the Dawson County Woman's Club and members of the Georgia Mountain Master Gardeners will have a free walking tour of pollinator gardens planted at merchants and members’ homes. Start the walking tour at Main Street Park, The Fancy Flea, Days Gone By, City Hall, The Bowen Center and Serendipity Antiques. The driving tour includes larger gardens with amazing displays of native perennials. These spots include Rock Creek Park (at the entrance across from tennis courts) Robinson Elementary School (1150 Perimeter Rd.) Edie Chodora garden (127 Harbour Ridge Dr.) and Georgann Schmalz garden (152 Willow Oak Lane). Our mission is to inspire and educate our community about our priceless pollinators. The goal of this event is to get people excited about bees and butterflies and learn ways, in their homes and neighborhoods, that they can support these special insects. It only takes a few native plants in each pollinator spot to create acres of flowers for beneficial pollinators in neighborhood yards. For more information go to: www.dawsoncountywomansclub.org
