Well folks, it’s official. We have two confirmed cases of laurel wilt (Raffaelea lauricola) in Cobb County. Laurel wilt is a disease of woody plants in the Laurel (Lauraceae) family. In our neck of the woods, it will primarily affect sassafras trees and common spicebush. Join Cobb County Extension on September 16 to learn more about this disease and how we can help prevent its spread. HINT: Don’t move firewood!
