"Isaac's Storm" by Eric Larson. This book chronicles the Galveston Hurricane of the 1920s, based on meticulous research of the many written accounts from the survivors. It is partly a biography of Isaac Cline, head of the weather service in Galveston. He was a product of his time, believing men had reached the limits of science, and felt immune to nature’s power so it has a lot to say about weather reporting. Written in novelistic style.
